Amy Winehouse Offered Bond Theme, Source Says

British jazz singer Amy Winehouse, who is known internationally more for her drug problems and wild antics -- in my five seconds of research, I see that she apparently heckled Bono while he was giving a speech, which makes me think she's good people -- has reportedly been offered the chance to sing the theme song for the new James Bond film. If British rag The Sun is to be believed, the producers of Quantum of Solace have gotten themselves involved in Winehouse's personal drama by offering the singer the theme song on the condition that she get herself clean and sober by April. "That's when the Bond people make a final decision on who sings the theme," the source said. "If Amy is clean then, it's hers." I don't know who this source is -- craft services guy, maybe -- but I also wouldn't put it past the crafty Bond producers to try to stir the media into a frenzy by putting Winehouse on the payroll in such a manner. For his part, Daniel Craig has already commented on this whole drama, saying "It's just way, way off that. Everyone's speculating about it but we've got other things to deal with -- there's no point in writing the song for a movie when we haven't got a movie." Yikes.
In other Bond news, there isn't any, really, but Craig did get into another tiff with journalists over his reputation for being difficult when it comes to press, which I didn't know he had. I met Craig during the junket for Casino Royale and found him to be as warm and as forthcoming as you could expect. On that so-called reputation, Craig says "I don't think it's true, it's just lazy journalism; they want to paint me as someone difficult. I think I'm quite nice, but maybe I'm delusional. There's no point in doing Bond if you're not going to sell it."

1)You're several days late and a dollar short on this one.
2)This is wishful thinking on the tabloids'(and Amy Winehouse's
publicists')part
3)It's not true. The "Winehouse is doing the theme for Bond 22/ appearing in Bond 22" rumour has been around for ages and has been shot down every time. She can't keep her act together so it is VERY doubtful EON(the producers of the Bond fims) would hire her.

She could poke holes in her crack pipe and play it like a flute.
The opening scene of the movie could be shot through the crack pipe, instead of the barrel of a gun. It'd be like, synchronicity.

What's sad is that Amy isn't another Britney...she's not some dimwitted ditz, she's genuinely talented (and if you doubt that, check out both of her albums, Frank and Back to Black). I agree that her life seems to be spiraling dangerously out of control, but I think people should remember how good she truly is.
As for her doing the Bond theme? Well, judging from these comments and things it seems as if it really is nothing but an unverified rumor, but I personally would love it.

It has been announced that Amy Winehouse is no longer in the run for any music for The New 007 Movie.
Per Sky News: Mark Ronson said he has been forced to stop work with her on their collaboration for the next Bond movie.
He said."We tried to work for a little bit. I'm not sure she's ready to work on music yet."
Asked if the Quantum of Solace track will be made he added: "I don't think so unless by some miracle of science it gets recorded and someone sings a vocal on it so probably not.
"We did work on it but we never finished it so that's about it."
Asked if the pair are due to work on other projects he replied: "No, we tried to work for a little bit. I'm not sure she's ready to work on music yet".
However, a spokesman for Winehouse has said: "Mark has presented a track to Amy, but she had other ideas about the direction it should take.
"She has always made her own decisions about her music."

We here at Atlantic News have been contacted by Jeff Greenberg of Greenberg & Silverman, the Management Company of Valare' ( http://greenbergsilverman.sampasite.com ) and have been advised this singer would
be a shoe in for the project (you may listen here- http://www.myspace.com/valareworldwide )
While we are merely reporting the news and are not their PR Company, we do believe they may be on to something.
After all, Ramone (Valare's Producer) of Greenberg & Silverman was accused of being 'Clive Davis' in the following article that predicted the demise of Kelly Clarkson's Record after Kelly told Clive to
'shove it."
Looks like Ramone was right on the money here:

While the aforementioned Artist, Valare' has only one song posted by the name of Show Off, you'll see what we mean when you hear it.
Over 100,000 MySpace hits in a little under One Month, and still unsigned...
The Artist instantly reminds you of authentic Tina Turner with several Horn Sections as well as Solo's accompanying her.
Her vocals are the true quintessence of raw talent from the factory...with a substantial hit of Soul unheard of today.
No Vocal coach...just GOD according to Jeff.
Please let us know here at News 7 if it's a yea or nay for you...
